RETREAT IN ITALY!!!
Recently, I was one of nine
fortunate writers to attend the Nightwriters' Retreat at Villa Spannocchia, in Tuscany, Italy. All the dreams one could have
about what it would be like to live in a villa in these storied hills came true for us. Our imaginations were seduced by old
walls seen from window seats, ghost faces flickering in stone fireplaces, worn wicker chairs on porticos, cats caressing our
palms, an ancient tower, monastery, and castle on the property, and medieval towns in the distance. Phyllis Theroux, acclaimed
writer, coaxed us into finding long dormant story seeds within ourselves, which we nourished until each tiny idea became fruitful
compositions to share.
